Until Kyosho releases a smaller spur gear (Pillars knows we need one!), this is the best combo of spur/slipper pad so you can still utilize the slipper (if you want to?), without locking down onto the spur gear itself. Some run 17.5 NT with locked slippers... Others (myself included), prefer the feel a slipper provides. Either way, you have options!
