Just like anything else you get what you pay for. Build quality of the cobra is A1.
Besides a few minor things the cobra was a pleasure to build. Parts were all high quality and everything was precise(sometime too precise)
The price difference is big but if your racing GT8 and your worries about $$ then it may not be the class for you because tires to me is the biggest expense. I personally get more uptight about the cost of always having good tires then the cost of the car and electronics. When u really look at it The $300 difference between the cars is only like 5 sets of good tires
Price is not the question, the question is how is the cobra going to perform
compared to the DM and other GT8 cars. If it dominates the DM then I will gladly pay the price for it again. If its equal to the DM then Ill still be happy with the car. If the DM out performs it then I will not be happy lol
Another big concern is parts wear. My DM is only 4 months old and all my dogbones and cups are all needed to be replaced. We will see how quick the cobra parts wear.
