Other guys at the track are pulling a taller gear with the Sonic with more timing and coming off cooler so not sure if something is wrong with mine or I'm just approaching it completely wrong. It sure is smooth but is not near as fast as my old Duo.
On the same track as Chaz955i, with my Sonic 17.5, I've been running around 145 - 165 degrees with an FDR of 3.8, depending on layout. I used to run with the timing advanced all the way, but backed off a bit it runs cooler with no loss of speed. I do run a fan blowing directly on the motor.
