I´ve read that some people are using a set screw instead so the top deck can flex a little bit more.
Use a long thread-locked setscrew, then put an o-ring on the upper deck and tighten a nut onto the setscrew until it just begins to put pressure on the o-ring. This will prevent spur stripping while allowing flex.... And you can always remove the o-ring and fully tighten the nut if you wish to remove flex.
