And after reading the gear chart its clear I cant and want be using the 87t spur that came in the kit with a 175.5 motor.
I searched online, read the charts and did the math. I cant believe the 17.5(w/timing) needs a gearing so high. So now Im debating if I should get a 72, 75, or 77 spur.
That would allow me to gear the motor for 3.5-4.0
On a smooth paved 220x125 asphalt race track in 17.5 blinky class, I have my FDR at 3.19 (64pitch gears). That's with a Revtech 17.5 (12.5 HT rotor), timing on the motor 1 mark before max, high speed fan, temps in the lower 140* on 95* day.
