Tape let go for some reason, could have been a greasy top of pack maybe? I dunno but i don't want to lose a race because an issue like that anymore.
I use the xenon tapes now, but even with the cheap white strapping tape from home depot, I had no issues. The only thing I can think of is that the carbon edges were not rounded enough and cut through the tape. Just make sure to degrease any surface that the tape comes in contact.
