This question is for the guys that like to tinker with timing. Do you have some sort of rule you follow when making timing adjustments as it relates to gearing? For example, if you raise your timing by 5 degrees then drop 1 tooth on the pinion. Or is the timing thing all just experimentation? I don't like to play with timing. Its one too many motor variables for me. I just lock it in at 45 degrees and then work the gearing and temps from there. But I wonder if I'm missing out here and would like to know how / when / why others are making adjustments.
