Someone else suggested in a PM to check the BEC voltage to make sure the servo is recentering. For VTA locally, we run 1s lipos on a 17.5 motor (apparently since both are cheaper and more plentiful to buy used), so it could indeed be a problem with not enough servo voltage to keep it tracking straight. When the power is off from the motor the steering servo gets the juice.

Sounds like a plan. Didn't know you're running 1S so yeah, that could be an issue. I was thinking it could be a basic servo or possibly receiver issue where the servo tweaks to one side when it gets juice. Good Luck !
