Who told you?!?
I am just speaking from my own experience. I spent 2 months putting together the best looking VTA car with the wheels perfectly matched to the width of the body. I even put Goodyear stickers on the rubber tires. Then I put the car on the track and within the first 10 seconds of practice I broke a front knuckle, bent the front left turnbuckle, and ripped 1-inch slit in the front of my perfect VTA body. Moral of the story is 2 months worth of "pretty-ing it up" work went down the drain in 10 seconds. If I had put as much time in with practice as I did with "pretty" work, then my car would more likely survive a race.
