A narrower width gives more roll, so may give you more steering, which if your cause is from excessive steering lock in corners then this can help reduce hooking on corner exit when power is applied.
Another thing to try is a different racing line, like turning in later to take a late apex which allows you to exit a corner straighter.
I doubt it has anything to do with excessive steering lock as I have my transmitter dual rate as low as 20... but I do have a lot of steering regardless
