while not the same track - i was at jackson rc - last summer i spent a lot of time running 17.5 blinky with a 80t spur in order to get the motor farther back in the car and create more weight movement (and thus steering).

with a thunder power 17.5 & blue rotor i ran well under a 3.5 fdr.

IMPORTANT -- make sure you have a fan hard wired to the battery +/- inputs on the speedo blowing on your motor. it helps makes things last --- otherwise they will blow smoke!
