Sonic with #954 rotor; at start of screw, 99mm.
To be honest I don't have as much time on the stock rotor in 12th scale as I would like, but it is definitely a good starting point!

Mike, that is very helpful... thank you.
I have been using the Revtech exclusively in 17.5 12th, but after reading so many posts on the Sonic... especially regarding its lack of fade, I had to try it out. With the Revtech I was rolled out @ 97mm, timing set between the last and 2nd to last hash marks. It looks like your suggested starting point will mesh pretty well with where I was at before.
I am definitely going to try the stock 12.5 rotor in the Sonic before moving to the 12.3. The #954 rotor is the 12.3 x 24.2, correct?
Also, if I get a newer Sonic with the new timing measurements and end cap, where should I set it for comparable timing to "start of screw"?
