I'd try epoxy it back together - degrease first let it cure, then JBweld around the area (cure) so that you're basically radiusing out all the right angles (where the gearbox is at it's weakest) best to do it before it happens but hindsight is a luxury.
CA and carbon fiber dust works much better. I broke one of the steering arms on my desc before they were available and fixed using cf dust and CA and it made it through an entire outdoor season, and is still on the car now.
