Just noted that you indicated a Hitec servo; but, I am not aware that they have a properly sized "mini" steering servo for WGT cars (or any pan car). You want the output shaft of the servo to be dead center in the chassis...It's a big deal.
At a minimum, consider upgrading to a Futaba S9650 mini servo at about $55.
