500K should be more than enough in the front...

500K should be more than enough in the front diff. I have run it like that for 2 seasons. If you put 2 mil in then you may as well have a spool in it.

1101. There are those screws on the servo mount and motor mount, you can also attach some velcro to the bottom of the battery and to the deck of the chassis.

It is a popular option to replace the Spec-R shocks and springs. Try the tamiya ones, I have heard god things about them. Personally I run the Spec-r ones. I will be replacing them for next season...

The setup for the car will be in the instructions as you build it. Also if you have any QC issues with the S2 I would suggest contacting Spec-R directly. They have outstanding customer service.

I use 2 S1's as parts cars (that I have broken down) and a 3rd S1 that is also parts but assembled. I need to get another one soon and 'retire' my current R1 when the new R2 comes out

Blue. Personally I would run the S2 whilst I was waiting for the R1 to turn up. It will give you a good understanding of how the R1 will run for you.
