The Tamiya XV-01 is by far my favourite choice. Not as cheap as the TT-01 or TT-02, but better in every respect.

Yes, I'm on high grip asphalt. ESC is in blinky mode with punch and brakes dialed down, and motor temperatures are ok after 6 minutes of running, so the gearing stays for now....

I have no problem noticing voltage dropoff on a 13.5T, it manifests as less overall punch and lower top speed on the straights.

Edit: If I'm not mistaken, a mere 0.1 V drop equals roughly 300 rpms...
