I agree, the Castlelink is important to get the best possible performance from your system. Not to mention it will make the setup for you much easier.

Just to be clear, you completed the setup procedure and wired for brushed-reverse? But did you set the esc for brushed-reverse? It comes in a brushless mode that must be changed to operate a brushed...
