If your engine has pull start it has a back plate. I think your confused about what a back plate is. it comes with everything you need, it connects to the back plate thats already on your engine.

Who did you get it from? if you got it from traxxas it had to have come with the EZ-start

The 5270R Is for the Revo 5308 and 5309 ,it should be every thing you need except maybe the battery for...
