No. The motor still does work, but behaves abnormal. For instance, inconsistent braking, lack of drag brake, sudden short braking action, abnormal behaviour when accelerating and/or WOT, whining...

Disassemble the motor, take out the rotor and...

Disassemble the motor, take out the rotor and hold the rotor and try to spin the magnet around it. You will notice any problems quite easy. So yes, just by hand.

Check if the magnet is still glued to the rotor properly. This motor behaviour you're describing suits that problem.
