the best thing to do is if it heats up fast gear...

the best thing to do is if it heats up fast gear down and if it runs cold gear up is my way of gearing motors etc.

What I tryed and worked to is run a longer screw...

What I tryed and worked to is run a longer screw through the tensioner and use a locking nut on the backside. This will keep the tensioner from getting loose.

The belt should have a small amount...

I would go with a new belt pullies, tensions bearings. Thata probably only parts you should need. Also look into the aluminum hinge pin mounts. The plastic ones won't hold up all that well.;)

go ahead and rebuild and on the screw that holds the belt tensioner use threadlock. That seemed to work well for me. Just after your done running ur buggy recheck it cause it will get loose.
