All you need is about 1-2mm depth of acetone which will only come into contact with the side wall a bit, and shouldn't even...

You can soak any tire just fine. Anyone who races will not use the sanexset of tires long enough for the affects of acetone and dry rot to set in.

Personally I recommend you just keep them as is...
