ray k's new class

Some suggestions for ray k's new class:

1) Red-dot silver-can 4wd sct. If you can finish the race without blowing up your motor, you win!!

2) 13.5 mini 4wd- hpi cup racers only, no atomic...

tcs

Great weekend of racing.

First thanks to Richard who gives us a great place to race and a world class indoor track.
Second to all those who designed and layed out the track.
Third to all of the...

silver can motors at tcs

The problem with handout silver cans is which class would hand them out. If all silver can classes were handout, then you would need about 80 similar spec silver can motors. I am not sure how...

fma chargers

FMA chargers are by far the best for the money.

For lipo they do 1 thing differently than any other lipo charger:
-> balance while charging by shunting current, instead of bleeding 1 cell until...

spec class

Count me in. I ordered a tt01e and as long as I can run lipo and you provide decent silver cans, I am in for 1-2 races a month.

Thanks,
Bill Jacobs

R/C theft

Theft of items from racer's pit areas has always been a minor problem in r/c racing. When you have spectators walking through the pits, the possibility of theft is always there, not to mention the...

trans-am class

If you really want to have fun, lets do figure 8 racing at the end of the night (suggested by someone else.)

Seriously, the best way to avoid cars jumping the track, by using the jumps on the...

trans am class

Hi Casey,
I stopped by mimi's on sunday and rod mitchell was there with the trans-am rules. He mentioned that the same rules would probably apply to the coliseum and glen burnie. He has the rules...

trans-am class

The issue with 4-cell and stock is not everyone has 4-cell batteries, so you are forcing people to buy or make 4-cell packs. By using 4-cell batteries you are also eliminating the use of lipo's....

running brushless in the transam class

I would love to run brushless in the transam class, but it is difficult convincing guys to spend $200 on a 21.5 brushless system for a "fun" class.

I think the black cans are very close, and even...

rules at mimi's

We have 2 deviations from the rules at mimi's-> motor chosen and winning penalty.

1) Putting a stock or 13.5 brushless into a vintage class with 6 cells basically makes the class a stock class...

trans-am racing at the "c"

Josh, it is already being set up.

We are trying to come up with a good fixed gear ratio to keep guys from over heating motors. Initially, we are thinking the rules should be:
1) any 4wd chassis...

For the Jan 5th mini class, the only allowed motor is novak 3.5 brushless with any battery you want. We will also attach little wings to the sides of the cooper body to see if it will lift off at the...

setting up the m03 mini

bigjim: the idea in mini is to carry corner speed, so you want a car that doesn't scrub speed in the corners, and a car that can accelerate out of the corners.

IMO, the hopups necessary in mini...

I will be there for mini.

novak 3.5 brushless in the mini

I suggest novak 3.5 brushless in the mini. If you make 2 laps, you win.

Being an ok mini driver (many are better,) I turn very similar laps between a good silver can and black can motors....

mini cooper weight with lipo

For TCS racing, the minimum mini weight without body is 1300grams (45.8oz). To run a 3200 lipo and make the 1300gram weight, you have to add about 7 ounces (between 6.5 and 7).

mimi's crew

Ken, you are right. I changed the post. Sorry. That being said, you see the enthusiasm that embracing new things does at a track. I only want the same thing for the "c". See you saturday.

maxamps vs orion

Brian, the information that maxamps posted on their site about why they use soft case packs is self serving at best.

1) you can see a soft case pack swell- the orion 3200 packs are not glued...
