I don't know really anything about off-road but i think you have to use the brakes in the air to get the front of the car level or pointing in the direction you want it to go.

The TC4 bearings aren't that bad, you can clean the grease out very easily and i definetly would as they are packed full of it, flicking the seals out is easy, just do it with a scalpel or hobby...
