TRUING TIRES?

How do you know how far to tru your tires? I notice that some racers hardely have any foam left while others have plenty.

Start at 59, keep an eye on diameter as they wear, and re-gear accordingly.

That should get a lot of life out of you tires.

You can run them as small as you like, but you will notice traction will reduce as they fall too small.

yup 59 good start. on a budget u could start 61mm. Just keep an eye on suspension geometry and adjust to maintain flat wear.

I would run down to 54-55mm.

Maybe I'm just still too new at this,but my first questions got to be what car? followed by what type of track?Ft meyers or a club track?do you want the car to push or pull in the turns? one way,locker,or diff? so when you go to race see who's using the same kinda stuff you are and sit down and talk to them how your car? what's the track like today? You'll get more help than you can imagine! good luck racing!

People at club races are always looking to help out. At my new off-road track, I broke a ball stud and borrowed one for my main. During the main the guy with the spare ball stud broke a rear bearing carrier. I had one so I let him have it. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours! It all works out to everyones advantage sooner or later.

Keep in mind that tire diameter changes the tire durameter the smaller the tire diameter the the harder the durameter reading.

Foam tires wear at a different rate on each corner of the car. You use a truer to get then all the same size, and to reduce the dia of new tires, you need to setup your car. The dial caliber is used to know what size they are and to make sure you have your rollout right.
