Default Help me understand my motor :)

Hey so I just did my first ever build. A nice B5 and for the most part I'am super happy.
However I don't understand why when I spin my motor by hand it feels like it's skipping. Is this normal? What causes it? I thought I had built my rear diff badly until I started to tear down and accidently spun my motor and noticed it.
FYI it's a hobbywing V10 Xerun 8.5T Sensored M.

Thanks in advanced

You are probably just feeling the motor going through the magnetic poles. It's normal. The magnetic rotor is attracted to the stator windings as it passes by each when turned, will settle in an attraction position when you let go. Note it will be a certain number of times for each revolution of the shaft.

When running the speed control applies power to the stator windings in sequence to make it spin.
