for sure the corner speed is part of it since the jump is right after a pretty sharp corner.

Sounds like Saturday i will give 32/72 a try and see if that gets better acceleration.

thanks!

The temp should go up with more timing, but not always. If it does rise put a fan on the motor.

You bought a D4?, you must run 50+ for this motor to reach its potential. I would drop the FDR to 5.4x

If you are running 17.5, you are overgeared. I don't know anyone who runs a fan for stock.

So I should increase the pinion size?

72/35 for FDR of 5.34, then turn the timing up to 50*.

This seems like it will increase my top speed, but not my torque.

I would start with your current gearing 72/34, crank the timing to 50*.
check performance and go from there.

Also use blinky mode, no timing, no boost. Drag brake 10-15%

Quick update.

Saturday my local track had a setup/clinic. It appears that I really screwed up my ESC setup. After trying different timings and gear suggestions only thing changing was the temps between runs which never went above 140. Speed never changed. Then I noticed on my mt4 radio the throttle was never going over 75%. So during the setup clinic Sean (track owner) spent some quality time getting my ESC end points setup correctly among a ton of driving tips, tire selections, etc.

Now I have a 72/34 with 50* timing monster under the hood.

Dropped my fastest lap from 20.3 seconds to 18.3 second. A few more practice days and I should be able to some what competitive in the b main.

Needless to say I have had a perma grin all day thinking about it. Super excited to get out and practice next Saturday.

Thanks for everybody's help here and at the 510 raceway in Foley.
