The stained glass one could be used for rc's. Most of the people I know only use 40watt irons from weller. A 40watt weller compared to a 40watt radio shack brand is alot different. Because of weller's quality there is less resistance in the iron. I have went through two radio shack irons & one hobbico before I got a weller. All three of them were 40watts, I gotta stop at home depot now. Fiancee is getting into racing & needs her own iron.

I used to use a 40 watt soldering gun. It worked well for a short time, then it started to get weak, even after replacing the tip. I recently bought a 40 watt Weller soldering iron, but haven't used it yet. I'm glad others are having good experiences with the 40 watt Weller. Looks like I made the right decision.

A chisel tip is a wider. When your soldering you don't use the point. You use some of the side of the tip. With a chisel the side is almost flat and allows more heat. Easier to solder when more heat is flowing.
PSI 1 is what irons normally come with. PSI 2,3 & 4 are chisel tips. The fourth one would be the best to use for rc soldering. For rc use a chisel tip is the best application. For other soldering jobs another tip might be better.
