Default ESC with no LVD

Hi everyone,

Just got an Traxxas E-Revo Brushed #5605. I noticed that the ESC has no LVD.

I was wondering if I can still use Lipo Batteries with the EVX-2 ESC. I'm not too worried about the lack of LVD feature, because I was planning to connect a portable Low Voltage Alarm/Monitor to at least one of the Lipos.

Is this an ok route to take? I just want to make sure the ESC can use Lipos primarily.

Thanks.

As long as you add an external battery alarm, you'll be fine.

Do you have any recommendations to what i should set the voltage alarm to? I will be using a 2S Lipo 7.4v. Thanks.

They typically only have a voltage selection based on the number of cells like this Novak one but if yours is programmable to an exact voltage, somewhere between 3.0-3.2v/cell is what you're aiming for so 6.0-6.4v. Also know that the setting will be lower than a storage voltage/etc. because the packs' voltage will drop under load.
