Your best bet is to practice at home, and set up a course(use cones, soda cans, water bottles, or anything u can drive around,) just to get the hang of things, and the feel of the control on the vehicle, u will be surprised how much better u become in a short period of time

I would ask the track operators about what type of LiPo's you can use when you decide to start racing. I'm no expert, but I think most tracks require ROAR approved hard packs for actual racing. LiPo's are a big investment, so think ahead, you'll save yourself alot of $$ in the long run.

For backyard bashing - soft packs are fine.

Nother thing to keep in mind is the size of your battery tray. I cannot get 3S packs in 2 of my 3 rigs. The 3rd one require's a special battery hold down setup.

Regarding the LVC setting, IMHO 3.7v is a bit on the high side. I set at 3.2v and the pack has 3.5v in it when the truck stops running.

Gens Ace - great packs, too bad HobbyPartz is always out of the darn things

Good Luck

Just by the Ecopower packs! ROAR approved, and great pricing! Also backed by Amain hobbies.

Well I pulled the trigger today and picked up a Hobby People 2S 5000 35C hard cased LiPo pack. I hope to get to the track this weekend and run a few laps. I may still get an EcoPower pack just to compare.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
