A "roller" is a kit that is put together, or close to it, but is missing a speed controller, steering servo, motor, and radio/receiver.

Also, I didn't do research when I bought my first charger, then when I got an1:8 scale and 4s batteries I was pissed the charger I had would only do 3s. So I had to buy another one.

1/8 buggy would be the most fun, but it's also the most expensive.

1/10 buggy is mostly for race tracks, but I recently saw a video of someone bashing with their Traxxas Bandit and it looked pretty fun. It probably won't do grass though.

Maybe a 1/10 stadium truck? They are like 2wd buggies, but with a little more clearance and truck (ish) bodies. If you got something like a brushless rustler you would have everything you needed out of the box, then you could upgrade batteries, charger, etc. as budget permitted.
Thanks for the advice. I know the cheaper ones will be more expensive in the long run, that's why I said that this is to get me started off with the hobby. It will get more expensive, but $300 is my budget right now. In fact, I really should only be spending $250-$300 because, I'm young, so money is kinda hard to come by. I wanted to get a buggy because I got $260 over Christmas and B-day and had nothing to spend it on, and I have only ever been looking for one to start me off, one that is not really expensive. And I will only be bashing with it on the gravel and dirt, I won't be going over any jumps or tracks, nothing that will guarantee breakage. $330 is the most I wanna spend on an RTR brushless 1/8th buggy, so I have more money for batteries, chargers, and repair parts later on. Also, like I said, I want a buggy, not a stadium truck, trucks just don't interest me as much.

Yeah, I thought that might be what a roller is. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, thanks to you guys, I'm gonna go with the XTM XT2e brushless 1/8 buggy. Thanks for all your help. I will be posting another topic to get into some more smaller details of the buggy.
