Post beginner questions re: car tuning and motor tuning!

Hi,

I am currently runing a team orion rush 23 turn motor, with a novak super rooster, on a tamiya TT-01 chasis. I race with a coupple of friends of mine who all have stock Tamiya's with tamiya sport tuned stock motors and manual speed controllers.
My car doesn't seem to perform any better then the stock cars and so I was wondering if there are any tricks to set up the car better (already running bb, aluminium propeller shaft).
Do I need to change the timing on the motor? If so, how much do I turn the end bell???
How do I true the comm, will this help?

Thanks heaps for your help!

ok first are they running the same chassis as u ...??

ok ball bearings will make a lot of difference ... frees up the drivetrain ... an gives less rolling resistance

don't discount the sports tuned motors .. they are fast when used with the right gearing ...

cheack the wear on ur com an check the brushes too

if ir's burnt replace an cut ... an it should b better .

Well it could be many things. One is that they could have a Monster Stock a Putnam, Team 1 Racing motor ect. Those are just as good or faster than the motor you have. They are even better than the RTR motors in the TC3 or XXX-S. Second is that they could have a better ESC. They could have better batteries. They could have better brushes and keepes their motors in tip top shape. Last they could have the car geared differently.

Any questions post on this site we'll help.
