Default Shock Spring colors...

Are they relevant? Can you tell if your suspension is 'harder' or 'softer' by the color of your springs?

Yes, absolutely they're relevant and yes you can tell if they're harder or softer depending on the color.

Every manufacturer uses their own color scheme for identifying hard to soft spring tension. Some even have all one color springs but different tensions on them. They're usually color coded at one of the ends but not noticeable from afar. This practice was created to mask your suspension setup from other drivers prying eyes at the bigger events.

Except for Caster Racing. All 3 colors are available in different rates so the springs match your paint. A lot of racers end up painting them anyways.

You can also try squeezing to match springs.

Simply compress two different springs with your fingers. The softer spring will compress more. Use this technique to match and choose your springs.
