Default New here, looking for suggestions....

Hello,

I have had some R/C cars and trucks in my life... still have a Toyota Supra Blitz TA-02...(collecting dust) and now need some help/suggestions for my youngest son.... he is about to be 8 years old, and I want to get him a decent R/C Truck/Buggy/Car or something that he can play with on a gravel driveway and in the grass.....

Looking for suggestions for a ready to run kit, for something electric.... and something on a starter level and on the inexpensive side..... Just want something for him to have a good time with, and something that we can buy parts for when it breaks/crashes, etc....

Thanks for the help...

+1 . For around the house bashing anything Traxxas would be fine...The Slash or Stampede or Summit or E-Revo or Rustler

agreed.. +1 on traxxas. Durable products, easy to locate parts, fun enjoyment at the "bashing" level. Not to say you can't race them as I've seen friends do very well with them, but since that's not a concern anyway, go traxxas.

Take a look at all of them and see what you like. Hard to tell if your only looking online as size can be deceptive.

Oh, and most have mentioned the stampede, slash, rustler.. my advice would be to stick with 1/10th scale as the smaller trucks won't be as much fun in taller grass and other backyard obstacles.

Traxxas for sure... Stampede would be best for grass. Slash, Rustler, Bandit are good as well but just lower ground clearance than the Pede. If you can swing it go brushless (less maintenance) with a decent stick pack and the right gearing still very controllable then when he's older you can add Lipos into the mix and he'll have some speed.
