custom car build
#16
No I have no idea but it has to be possible somehow, potentially with a nice radio it can be done there, I know it can with air radios but no idea for surface really
#17
I'm sure it can be done, but I don't really have an ideas for it. I might do some research tomorrow on it. Won't be building one but if I can I'll try to find out some stuff to help ya. I'd say as long as you're okay with using something like a DX6i or some other type of dual-stick transmitter it can be done. If you know any guys who fly RC planes, they could probably help you out with that.
#18
I actually have a DX6i cause of a heli I have but i don't wanna do 4ws thats the other guy I was just putting out ideas too

not 100% sure but i found a receiver and transmitter for the steering, it has 3 channels: esc and two servos. it has four settings for the servos: front steering, rear steering, crab walk, and all wheel steering so i got that covered its just getting it all put together that is the challenge.
#20
another thing i though of is how does the wiring work for both servos and the motor? do they each get there own channel or i keep hearing of this Y connection and i assume that is for both servos to one channel in the transmitter but does it matter?
#21
well I would assume that with 3 channels and the ability to switch between steering servos means that they would be hooked up to different channels
#22
yeah true but the radio i was looking at has four different settings and in the video it sounds like he is just changing something for just channel 3? if i did need to have the servos connected to one channel, what would i need to buy to have it work?
#23
should just be a y lead
#24
thanks. do you know where a good place to get one is or does it really matter what type?
#25
shouldn't matter what type and it might be best to look in the RC airplane stuff because it more common for them to use 2 servos together
#26
update: so i have most of my parts for my build, had to order a few more to finish off the rear, which is actually a front suspension setup for the 4WS which i found out i don't need a y-harness because that makes to servos work as one all the time. but, with the new radio and transmitter, it has four settings for the types of steering so i just had to plug the wires in different places. also just got done with finding out where i will have to mount the 2nd servo and ESC because the 2nd servo takes the place of the ESC. Got my wheels painted black and they look sick! (not gunna lie) and i will have pictures up shortly once i get some more posts in. haha

sounds great man just hope it holds up fairly well
