Default Traxxas T Maxx Shutting Off HELP!

I am fairly new to RC but i have a good knowledge of auto mechanics. I recently bought a used T-Maxx. It runsa great as long as you stay in the throttle, if you apply the brkae enought that it forces the carb to the rest position it shuts off. I have noticed that when the servo switches and puts force on the linkage to shut off carb it pushes so hard it causes the truck to turn off. Also I have noticed fuel spitting out of the exhaust pipe. There are three screws on the carb. Which one does waht and where is a good base line to start at.

Default tuning

the screw on the front of the carb is for idle. The one on the top is the high speed needle and the one where the throttle linkage hooks up is the low speed needle.Check the Traxxas web site for the factory setting and check to see where yours is set. Sounds like the low speed needle is to rich. Hope this is of some help.

3mm for an idle is ALOT. Most engine manufactures say .5mm.......

It just sounds fat.

I set mine on the rail of my deck to work on it and it starts and idles fine, but if I let it kick into gear and stay on it it's fine but dies if I let off the throttle at all

I have found the stock carb settings are close, but I set my carbs @ 4/1-2 turns open high. and the low to 1/2 turn from flush low inside lip. I prefer to use a digital caliper and measure .024 from outside from the barrel lever. idle .05 to 1/2 + turn max open. excess fuel from the pip is fine to stat but what really matter is the smoke color. Make sure the throttle linkages are set so @ neutral the carb is closed and the springs are pushing the carb closed. Use fuel with 14-18% oil lube for long engine life.
