Default which car for vta ?

for a beginner that wants to get into racing the VTA class ? local rules call for a 21.5t motor , and am looking for a rtr that would be the easiest to get up and running quickly .

hpi sprint 2 ?

hpi sprint 2 flux ?

associated tc4 ?

thanks .

I hear of a popular choice being the tc3 or tc4, an old chassis now so you can find them as used rolling chassis quite cheap

Stay away from the Sprint. EVeryone I know who started with one grew to hate it. Everyone I know who started with an AE TC3 or TC4 still runs them, successfully.

Another vote for the Tc4 i picked one up a roller for 40 bucks threw in my electronics and won the b main at our local track not bad for its first night!!!
But in all reality they are an impressive affordable car.

Of all the cars you listed, I would suggest the TC4.

thanks for all the replies . the consensus seems to be that the tc4 is the best car , but it is also the furthest from legal for vta . i was thinking more about the sprint 2 because it seems that it would be the easiest to get to the rules for the class . i would just have to switch motors and i would be ready to go .... or am i wrong on that ? i really just want to have some fun blasting around with my toy car against other toy cars , not really looking to be super competitive and building the perfect car .

I don't understand why you don't think the TC4 is legal. Its been around for ten years, and it's still a fun car to drive. The chassis is solid, parts are easy and cheap to get. It in no way diminishes the spirit Vintage Trans-Am rc racing.

Exactly, the VTA class was started so people could pull chassis' like the TC4 off the shelf and race them again.

I don't think tou will regret getting a tc4, they would be a good introduction to VTA.

Just don't monkey arm wrench the screws out of it, they are quite a fine thread so they could be more likely to strip out on you.

In general though, the tc4 are nice cars. Plenty of adjustment on them
