New fella

Learning a lot already from reading the board. Just got a cheapie RC stadium truck.

The original plan was -- build a robot to compete in the Sparkfun Autonomous Vehicle Contest where robots have to drive around their building in Boulder, CO using GPS and such.

Since it's a timed contest, of course I needed something faster than the competition from last year. Planning to program my Android phone to drive the thing since it has gps/compass built in.

So, yeah, big nerd here.

Anyway, of course I had to play with the truck first. I knew they must be fun, but dang. Driving this thing around even on the street is just crazy fun. Why didn't anyone tell me?? :D

(I planned all along not to hack the thing permanently, don't worry :D)

Anyway, looks like a cool board, looking forward to learning from you RC gurus!

Great idea!

I always thought that the key to self driving vehicles was to have two gps systems so they could cross-reference.
