Off-road track build (Pics)
Hey guys, here is a quick sketchup of our track layout and some pics of the track in progress.
1st pic is of turn 1. Second pic is from turn 1 looking back at the bottom straight. Third pic is looking at turn 2 exit, and the jump that leads into turn 3.
Let me know what you guys think!

I didn't see a section for works in progress as far as tracks go, I'm cool if this thread gets moved to appropriate section.

looks like that will b a fun track once u get it done....is that in ur back yard?

I personally don't like tunnels on an RC track. But that's me.

Sorry, those trapezoid thingies are actually jumps and their corresponding landings, no tunnels. Sorry for the cornfusion.
It's in my buddy's back yard. For some reason, his fiancee said yes to this. I have no idea why, but hey, I'm goin with it.

Haha, yeah I really hope when we are done that she doesn't ask us to put it all back.
I'm worried about track width, mostly about 6' wide all the way around. That and packing it flat enough that 1/16th's can bomb around on it without getting bounced off. My bone-stock :16 Slash is doing pretty decent. I have to gun it out of turn 2 to make the jump, then slam on the brakes to be ready for turn 3.
I wanted to get a little "road course" into this thing. I was always turned off by the look of tracks that have really wide (8-9') track only separated by the black tubing. Now, after racing on the little bit of 5-6' track we've done...well...I see the practicality of the wide lanes. I guess when we laid this out, it was with a fair bit of aesthetics in mind. We are leaving as much grass as possible, at least to this point.
I really don't see many spots on our track where passing can take place safely, but maybe that will add to the fun. Maybe if I can train my dogs to overturn rolled cars?
Brad, thoughts?

once the track starts to get packed and the fluff is off the top it will get better traction and as for the bumps...its offroad...but if they r to big just use a flat head shovel and skim the tops off to smooth it out alil

Looks fun, wish I had a yard big enough to do this.

That's a good looking track you have started on I wish I had a yard big enough for one too. But I'm looking into possibly opening a carpet track.
