Buying cheap knock-offs thinking it was a bargain. Needless to say, the amount of money I spend on those knock-offs to make them reliable is much more than I spend on a good well known brands.

Nice tip thanks! My stupidest mistake ever was not joining this site before I starting buying rc cars.

And my second stupidest mistake and one I seem to keep making is trusting anything anyone says that is selling used on ebay.

Oh and my very stupidest was buying a kyosho TR15 off ebay lol

Oh yea another rookie mistake .Using threadlock on plastic threads instead of ca or supa glue. Apparrently thread lock ruins plastic.

totally agree. Buying any cheap buggy is a waste of time. I was doing the math the other day and I worked out that it will cost me more money to fully hop up my tamiya advante buggy then buying a durango dex410. people winge endlessly about the cost of the dex410 but I think its cheaper then most when you work it out. Hpi is the worst for this. age old story isnt it. No such thing as a bargian. The old saying rings true buy cheap buy twice.

Default On road Nitro.

My biggest mistake was the reality of truing tyres. Hoping I'd get more $$ value out of full diameters, all I did was chunk new tyres and ruined my race meeting.
