Default how does a slipper clutch operate?

i've always been wondering how does it work. when you rev the engine, does it engage the tranny or what?

It acts as a shock absorber for your driveline. Generally there are two pressure plates that sandwich a material disc. Adjusting the pressure on the disc changes how long the slipper slips.

Yea, it just acts as a kind of a blow valve so you dont blow your transmission (which ive done many times) or bread a driveshaft (also done many times)

In terms of using it, if you set it as tight- power from the motor will go directly to the wheel. If you set it loose- under hard acceleration or tension the spur gear will spin but will not be spinning the transmission.
