Default Amain Stating Losi Shock Oil Thicker Than Associated?

I thought the detailed graph that's going around on this site concludes that Losi oil is thinner. Did something change?

There are no standards and there are differences. This is why once you get a setup with one brand of oil, usuually stick to it since it may not be the same with another brand of fluid.

Same with diff oil too.

I don't disagree that using the same brand is key for consistency.

If I were a betting man, I'd probably be willing to bet Losi and Associated have been selling the exact same oil for more than a decade.

Since these are the two most popular oils, I think it's highly useful to know how the two compare. Someone went through the trouble to actually take measurements and someone else went through the trouble to graph them so I must not be the only one who thinks this information is useful.

What really confuses me is how some people state that Losi oil is thinner and others the opposite. It would be really helpful to know for sure.

Did someone actually take the oils and test them? Was the testing equipment calibrated and traceable? Or did they make the charts from published information?

I believe the chart was created by someone on this forum. It is based on the information on this site:

http://www.twf8.ws/new/tech/shocks/shock.htm

Reviewing the info on the above link, it seems the conflicting data (that goes against the chart seen on this page) are "unofficial conversion values provided by Gene Hickerson USA":
Cts Losi WT Associated WT
100 10 7.5
150 15 12.5
200 20 17.5
275 25 22.5
300 27.5 25
350 30 27.5
400 32.5 30
425 35 32.5
450 37.5 35
500 40 37.5
______________
It's not mentioned how these figures were obtained, so for now I'm going to trust amain and the figures taken with accurate equipment which both state that Losi is slightly heavier.

Bringing an old thread back. I heard that the new Associated oil is a different viscosity from the old one. As you all know, AE is selling their new shock oils with the CST rating on them. Just wondered if there is any data comparing the old vs. new. The older one does feel a little softer imo.
