are my batteries charging
a battery pack 6 cell should be 7.2 volts right ? well why am i getting a reading of only 5.2 volts ? im getting this reading with a venom speed meter. is there an drop off from the esc or do i have bad cells ?

That's probably reciever(BEC) voltage. Usually from 4.0 to 6.0 volts.

Excatly where do you measure the mentioned voltage? On the battery plus and minus pole or after the ESC?

its after the esc

If you want to check the battery, you have to measure directly on the batterys plus and minus pole. But it wont say much about capasity and voltage during load anyway...
The right way to check a batterys condition, is to fully charge it and then discharge it on a discharger which can measure average voltage, capasity and more.
A check of common sense, is to fully charge the battery, and then drive and see if the car got proper speed and acceleration.
