Default Nitro kinda loud

Hi all,

Im totally new to nitro and was wondering can I get a silencer or a muffler for a nitro car?

I live in apartment blocks and it will be too noisy to race my car around. neighbour's wouldn't like it

Appreciate your feedback, the car I'm thinking of getting is the Kyosho Subaru DRX.

Typically the stock muffler is the quiet one, most aftermarket pipes favor power over sound. It has been awhile since I used nitro though, I could be wrong and there may be several "quiet" pipes available.
Have you considered electric? They dont have the "cool" factor like nitro does for some people, but they are just as fast or faster with todays technology. I run a 90mph electric car in front of my apartment building at 3am sometimes and no one has ever noticed me that I know of. Im sure there has been a few crashes that had to wake someone up! lol

There are one chamber pipes and these are the loudest. The 2 chamber pipes are quiter but may not be quite enough if you have fussy neighbors. I only run nitro during daylight and only between 10am and 5pm. That generally keep sthe complaints down. Let them complain. Then talk with police when they come and let them hear your nitro run, they'll tell you if its a prob or not.

I haven't ever tried a plane muffler, they may be quieter, but would take some rigging to get one attached. I've converted several of mine to electric, but will not convert them all, I like running nitro.

If you are worried about noise then I would not. These aren't lawn mowers.

My neighbors always tolerated me for years, but I am now all electric.

are u racing or bashing if your bashing around a neighborhood then go electric.
if your racing then i would try nitro offroad out and im guessing your local,
track isnt near by a neighborhood right.

tc5 man,

Im not racing there is no track near me, I drive eletric behind my apartment building. I love bashing the car though.

But Nitro seems soo cool, and it would be great to get the engine feeling although I dont want it to be too loud. if there was a silencer/Muffler on the market that would fit the Subaru DRX or I another car I like I'd buy it and drive both Nitro and Electric.

regards,
