nice imagination, but only rookies or the inexperienced or bashers wanting their cars to look cool would do such a thing...
at least no racer in their right mind would.

I race and I'm gonna try it. Seems like it would really protect the shocks. Unless the balloon acts like an airbag and effects the stiffness of the shock. I'll check it out this weekend.

PS Shave the goatee, the nineties are over.

Hate to get technical, but what size balloons? I am going to try this as my first "mod".

what's so bad about protecting your shocks? most 1/8 scale buggies/truggies have shock boots. dirt collects on the outside of the shock seal and grinds away at the shaft and this is what causes oil leakages. its cheap and works.........so whats so bad about this? i'm a racer on a budget and I run balloon shock boots.

If you poke a small pinhole in the ballon it will allow the air to escape. This is a great idea!!!!!!!
