Cool New guy here!

Hey guys, well I am completely new to this hobby, but here's my first car:

Basically I had a computer monitor laying around, and my neighbor had this guy laying around, so we did a trade. This being my very first day with the car, I obviously don't know anything about the hobby or my car in general.

What I do know about it:
-It has some upgrades.
-Its made by Traxxas
-Its a 2 speed, AWD, with reverse.

It was my neighbors sons, who left it behind when he moved out. Apparently it had some idling issues, which frustrated him enough to let it sit for over a year and a half.

I tried to start it today, but none of the used glow plugs I was given were heating up, so I am going to go out and buy some new ones this week, and give it another shot. Once I know it will crank, I am going to take it apart and clean it off really well because its caked in dust, dirt, cobwebs, and dead spiders.

Hopefully by than I will be a little bit more knowledgeable about whats going on from reading things online, and be able to tinker with it a bit and try to get it to idle properly.

I signed up on here right away so that I could get some feedback from everyone. I have a bunch of questions, like which model it is, which forums I should sign up on, the best places to order parts from, and some tips on tuning it since this is all new to me.

That's my car though! And I look forward to hearing from everyone and participating on the forums!

-Andrew

It could be some type of Traxxas Revo or older model Monster Truck. It is definitly a monster truck based on the A Arms, shock setup, and wheels and tires. The glow plugs were probably shot from sitting around so much and the engine is going to take a bit of work because any gas engine that sits around is never to good. You should check the glow plug inside the head of the engine and the actual thing ur using to heat up the plugs, sometimes the batteries inside them go bad after a while.

Congrats, you got yourself a 4WD T-Maxx! If the engine is orig, its a 2.5R model, plus I can see a few mods - the pipe and the alum rear body post.

Sitting that long, I would buy new fuel line along with some ne glow plugs. Rinse out the fuel tank as well with some fresh fuel. Fuel gets gummy when it dries out from just sitting - can cause starting probs. If you're using the ezstart, make sure you've got a got a freshly charged batt. I had trouble with mine and started using a separate glow plug heater to take that load off the ezstarter. Got better starts that way.

Here's some reading - search around here, you'll find the manual, exploded diagrams an parts lists in pdf to dnload for reference.
