Wow, I haven't seen a rule book explaining how or what we do with our own cars, he wants to swap out his electronics, not yours. All he was asking was for some advice on what we thought may be an easier way to do it, and you guys are thrashing him for asking...Zig, you will find out real soon who to listen to, and who to not..It's obvious here...I have been only been in this hobby for about a year now, but I have picked it up real fast because I asked questions, like you are doing. Do your own thing for now, and if you get more serious, then pick up the equipment that you will need..If everyone was so closed minded, we all would be using nicd and driving Tamiya frog's--they were cool though.

And Velcro is not a "ROOKIE" mistake, it holds my amb's very nicely

It would seem that a sensible person wouldn't want to risk their valuable electronics, especially since that's the only set-up you have, by potentially having it fall out of the car due to a velcro failure and shorting out the whole system.
Next, a real racer doesn't bash their race stuff. They save it for the track, and apparently in your case you can't afford to break anything bashing.

And all that being said, it seems you should limit yourself to concentrating on "racing" in one class until you can afford to properly equip your second car. To me, you're in way over your head.

Good luck either way

dont listen to them! u can bash ur race stuff, i do it all the time, theres nothing wrong at all with it, and u can switch rc esc and motors out its not gunna hurt them at all. but i would try to find a better way to mount the esc rather than velcro. i use it in my crawler but thats cause its slow.

Nobody was thrashing him, just trying to give him practical/real world advice.

Well, plain and simple I'm not going to use velcro. Someone suggested it, I tried it, decided I didn't like it, looking for something different. Maybe if I get more serious with the racing then I will buy another motor or something, I dont know. I can afford to replace my parts when they break though. Suspension arms dont cost as much as motors last I checked, justanotherdude. That seems to be something you just don't get. There's a difference between 'cant afford' and 'dont want to sink that much money into right now'

In any case I'm going to leave the tt-01 in race spec for the winter since I can't really use it outside anyway, and the brushless stuff will stay in the truck, since I can race OR bash with that shit anyway. Next summer, we'll see.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go ask this same question on a different forum and see what happens.

Where only helping out here. We just want you to realize that if your velcro detaches the esc and it brakes it's going to be as expensive to buy a new brushless system. You don't need to buy one right away but you should start saving up. I was in the same boat to.

Oh, and for the guy that puts velcro on his transponder, how the hell does it stay there? At my track we use body clips. No offense, just surprised it's stays on for the whole race.
