Traxxas Slash - Battery Questions - advice needed
Hi,
Im looking at buying a Traxxas Slash
For the battery im tossing up between two, ive decided for now to stay away from LiPO as it seems it would be easier with NiMH as its less maintenance.
So im thinking about either
5000mAh 7.2v NiMH Stick Pack -AUD $65
4200mAh 8.4v Nimh - TRX Plug -AUD $55
not sure if the first one is Traxxas plug or not, but what is the difference between the two in terms of run time and speed? is it pretty close? Im thinking to buy two of the same. so that i have a spare on hand and ready, plus when i buy a second r/c (probably the Traxxas bandit) i've already got a battery.
any help or advise would be much appreciated
Thanks
Martin

4200mah 8.4v (7 cell) will have noticably more speed but will have less run time do to both the mah difference, 4200 vs. 5000, and the fact that with 7 cells vs. 6 it puts more voltage to the motor which makes it draw more amps.
Even if both packs were the same mah, the 7 cell would get less run time.
