Default Advice on mini motor

Hey guys, new to the site, was wondering about a motor for my ProPulse B-100 ( RC18B ).

It has the stock motor which I have been running for around a 5 months now, and I was wondering how this would be for a replacement.

fireball micro 370p motor. ( can't post links yet.)

Still running the stock electronics, but have upgraded to the RC18B Alum. lower control arms, ( front and back ) and alum hubs.

I still have the stock spur gear and pinion gear ( 12T ) and want to make sure I don't strip out the gears with this new motor.

Thanks for any responses in advance.

( also if you have any computer problems I can help out with that, have been a member of a overclocking forum for some time now ( 3yrs plus )).

I just figured it was time to switch to a hobby I can go outside with.

IMO venom motors are crap. It would probably work with your esc but they only last a few runs. We ran the Losi 'Insane' motor on the stock RC18T esc for a whole season before going brushless. Yes it was $30 but it lasted a whole season and it ripped!

Thank you for the reply.

I had to modify the motor mount because the holes in the can are closer together than on the stock propulse motor.

It sucks that it won't run many runs.. I thought I could get around 50 or so runs out of it. The stock PP motor is right at 6 months old with around 100-125 runs on it.

I thought a aftermarket motor would last a bit longer.

EDIT: Just did some searching, and it seems that there are quite a few people that have had good luck with this motor. They say it will last a good while. Hopefully I'll be lucky and get alot of good runs out of it.

Those look nice.

I got it installed and took it for a test run. Runs great.

I was running a 12T pinion, and it was fast, then changed to a 14T for top end.

I am afraid the 14T will overheat the motor, should I run the 12T instead? I also have a 13T pinion for a in between speed.

Which would be the best to use?

Currently running a 54 tooth spur gear.

I like the stock motor from the 18t was plently fast and lasted a whole season. I think there only $12.

Doesn't the selection of a motor also depend on if he is just using this to bash or if he is racing? If I am just using my 18T to bash around, I don't think I would spend too much money on it and would just go ahead with the stock motor. Just my .02 cents.

I know this thread is a little old, and I have'nt been around for awhile, but just a little info here:

Everyone was right the Venom fireball 370P motor blows. I only got a few more runs out of it, after I said how great it was running.

Was low on cash so, I got the RX 280 Team losi motor and some extra brushes.

This motor is much faster than the venom 370.

Now my problem is the Rx 280 kills off my battery's about 3-4mins sooner.

To top it off, the transmitter and receiver are messed up ( I get all kinds of interference ) and tried changing the crystals )

Lucky I found a traxxs E-revo mini micro transmitter and receiver new in box for it on the bay for $19 shipped.

So what battery's should I look for to increase my run times?
