I had it set at OEM spec for breaking the engine in and then i started slowly to turn the a/f needle downward to lean it out a bit. The car dies when I apply the brakes and try to hold the truck still. So I tried to adjust the Throttle trim on the remote to make it idle higher and I could just hold the brakes, it sometimes works but the truck wants to take off like a rocket when i release the brake.

any advice would be fantastic!

use the idle srew on the carburator to bring up the idle up not the radio trim.
I turn it down 1.5 full turns and the truck dies. I back it out and it'll fire up and run. But still dies when brakes are applied.
Answer me this, with the throttle adjustment, that is just to barely touch to open the carb up a tiny bit at idle or just right before for instant power and no delay correct?
I messed with the low-speed idle screw but that didn't help to much. so I returned it back to factory. I only went about 1/4 of a turn.
Again, I appreciate the help. I'm trying to have a trial and error but im getting all the same results
I didn't know I had an idle screw, I adjusted that and it was great. I could brake and it wouldnt stall. I am assuming that was my main problem. Had it running for a few minutes but it died for some reason...

these things are a pain. lol

A common error is to use radio trim to up the idle speed, but over time the tune is lost(temp, humidity ect) and by using radio trim you are opening the carb by apply throttle, when u return to neutral and then into brakes you actually close that corrected idle through trim and cause the motor to stall, because it was on able to idle at its actual neutral position. Never use trims to adjust idle or brakes. Always use the mechanical adjustments on the car
with tuning if it still dies, then change the servo horn it self
turn your radio on and your car on, set the throttle trim to the middle.
then unscrew the one screw on your throttle and pop the servo horn off then with the servo horn in your hand push it so the carb is all the way closed then have the gap about .5 to 1 millimeter open, just enough to see. put the servo horn back on and go start her up
if it still does it keep adjusting to a smaller gap untill it will idle with our the brakes

I appreciate all the help. I wasn't aware of a idle adjustment. I adjusted that to idle a little higher and the car runs great now. A glow plug stopped working, I am assuming it was caused by it not being tuned correctly and burning it out. Not sure.
another thing to keep an eye out for is.take the air cleaner off the car.with the car and the radio on hit the brakes.make sure that the throw of youre brakes isnt moving the carb back restrickting air flow.best thing to do is set you trims to 0 on the radio.pop off the servo horn and re-adjust the position in the idle position.you might have to turn the hron left or right to get it cloase to where it needs to be.then use you idle screw/end points to trim the rest in.
