your choice if you want to take your electronics or not, you dont have to .
all i do is spray the whole car down with simple green, let it sit for a minute then spray it all off with an air compresser. and wait for your electronics to dry before turning them on. i say over night.

if it is only carpet fibre or dust then the best cleaning tool for me are two thick bristled paint brushes,1 and 1.5". Just the right sizes for every part of the car.
If you are getting mud/traction compound on the car though, I wouldnt advise using motor spray on anything except the motor, as it could make the plastic brittle depending on the chemicals in it.
For me, stripping the car of electrics and bearings, then using a very weak mix of soapy water would be my only idea.
I used motor spray once on my Tamiya ta05, and the plastic went an off shade of white on the surface. Wether it weakened the plastic I dont know, but I wont be doing it again.
Having sprayed woven graphite and carbon fibre parts with motor spray they still seem ok, just make sure the surface is still shiny and the edges have been glued and use as little motor spray on a tissue as possible.
Damn chemicals.... Should have studied science more at school...

the best cleaning strategy is to not get it dirty....
however....take electrics out and simple green works great....rinse with garden hose and dry immediately with air....wd40 also works good i've heard that it is also good for the plastics ....highly unlikely however couldn't hurt...never had a problem with simple green or wd40 in 10 years so....
motor spray is ok for getting bearings clean and motors clean but like it was said above....its an alcohol based cleaner and what that does is dries out the plastics...so be careful
also a can of wd40 and simple green is bout same price as a can of motor spray...id say have all 3 in the pit bags if you ask me
